Thompson & Grace Medical City Ltd. is developing a self-contained community on a 131-hectare site in Akwa Ibom, anchored by a healthcare system and supported by pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology, housing, commerce and its own utilities.
The land is secured and the design and architecture phase is complete. Construction, approvals and funding are still ahead.

The master plan
A self-contained community anchored by healthcare.
In 2014 the Center for Health Systems & Design at Texas A&M University prepared a concept master plan for the site in Akwa Ibom. It arranges a teaching hospital, a medical school and research institute, a town centre, homes for staff and families, and the city’s own utilities around green space and walkable streets.
The strategy builds on that plan with the T&G Cottage Hospital, the Thompson & Grace Innovation Park, and intravenous fluid manufacturing and pharmaceutical-grade cassava processing drawing on the experience of Thompson & Grace Pharmaceuticals.
